Jr. Rescue

The Junior Rescue Program is one of our most valued assets and one of Shelby Rescues greatest resource. In order to provide a smooth transition to Senior Membership status once the Jr. Rescue Member becomes 18 years of age all Junior Rescue Members ate trained to Shelby Rescue and Cleveland Co. EMS standards

The Jr. Rescue Program is a hands on program and consist of but is not limited to the following:

	All Aspects of Transports and Patient Care
	Vehicle Extrication
	Water Rescue
	Open Water Diver Certification
	Repelling / High Angle Rescue
	Search and Rescue
	Many other activities

To become a Junior Rescue Membership you must:.

	Be a person of good character and be in good standing with the community.
	Not have any criminal record of any kind
	Live inside Cleveland County.
	Be between the ages of fourteen and eighteen years of age
	Be in school and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or greater.
	Complete and present a Junior Rescue application to the Officers and Junior Rescue Membership.
	Have your application signed by your legal guardian and your school principle
	Complete the three month probation period

During your probation period complete the following

	Blood Borne Pathogens Training
	Haz/Mat Training
	Obtain the AHA CPR Certification
	Obtain the AHA First Aid Certification
	Complete the 16 Hour Training Officers Orientation Program
	And be voted in as a full Jr. Member by the Jr. Rescue Membership at the end of the 12 week probation period
